How to Create a Group Chat on a Smartphone

Group chats are great ways to talk to multiple people at the same time. This can save a lot of time and allows many people to communicate simultaneously. They can be great for organizing events and sharing information

Steps for iPhone:

  1. Open Messages App
  2. Select the blue button in the top right of the screen that looks like a pencil and paper
  3. Type the name of a person from your contacts that you want in the group chat
  4. Select them from the list of your contacts
  5. Continue typing in other names or phone numbers for people you want in the group chat
  6. Send a message to the chat, and that will then create it

Steps for Android:

  1. Open Messages App
  2. Select the blue Start Chat button in the bottom right of the screen
  3. Type the name of a person from your contacts that you want in the group chat
  4. Select them from the list of your contacts
  5. Press the white button with a person towards the right of the screen to add another person
  6. Continue typing in other names or phone numbers for people you want in the group chat
  7. Once you have added everyone, press Next
  8. Now, you can choose a name for the group chat. If you do not want to give it a name, press Skip
  9. Your group chat is now created
